Domestic Energy Efficiency Grants
NI Sustainable Energy Programme – NISEP
The Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme is a fund that collects money from domestic and commercial electricity customers throughout Northern Ireland via what’s called a public service obligation or PSO for short.
The money collected is then used to fund a number of different energy efficiency schemes and initiatives aimed at providing support towards the cost of domestic energy efficiency measures across Northern Ireland.
Measures Funded Under NISEP
Currently the pot stands at around £8m which is used to finance various domestic energy efficiency schemes with qualifying households able to tap int funding for a wide range of energy efficiency improvements including:
- LED light bulbs
- Hot water tank insulation
- Water saving devices
- Smart heating controls
- Insulation measures
- Draft proofing
- Boiler upgrades
There are 19 different schemes being run by 11 different scheme managers and targeting different customer groups.
