Energy Efficiency Grants England

What Energy Efficiency Grants Are Available In England?

In support of the drive towards net zero the Government in England provide a number of different grants to help with the cost of installing domestic insulation and energy efficiency measures.

Click on each one to check eligibility and to find out more about the grant and how to apply.

NOTE: These are official Government supported grants only and hence subject to change. See Government website for latest updates.

ECO - Energy Company Obligation

ECO4 aims to provide free energy efficiency measures for vulnerable households in order to improve the energy efficiency and save on heating their home.

It provides eligible customers living in a home with a low EPC rating with a package of free energy-saving measures and heating improvements.

GBIS - Great British Insulation Scheme

Families in lower council tax bands with less energy-efficient homes will be offered vital upgrades – such as roof, loft or cavity wall insulation.

The scheme will also boost help for those on the lowest incomes and extend support to a wider range of households when compared to other schemes.

HUG - Home Upgrade Grant

HUG is focussed on improving the energy efficiency of properties which are off the gas grid and hence don’t have mains-gas heating.

If you own a property that has no access to gas and meets the required criteria you could be eligible for FREE insulation and heating upgrades.

BUS - Boiler Upgrade Scheme

BUS is a Government initiative to encourage people in England and Wales to switch from fossil fuels to more environmentally friendly heating systems.

The scheme provides upfront capital grants of £5000 or £6000 to support property owners to install heating systems such as heat pumps and biomass boilers.

Warm Homes: Local Grant WHLG

WHLG Warm Homes Local Grant
