There are a number of different options depending on which specific part of the UK you live in – simply select your country and decide if any of the options are right for you.

Energy Efficiency Grants
As you would expect, there’s a huge focus on energy efficiency grants UK right now, given the crisis around energy security and the drive to net zero.
The UK Governments are committing huge sums of money towards energy efficiency grants to encourage us all to make our homes more energy efficient by insulating, upgrading to low carbon heating systems and generating power.
There’s something for everyone but especially (and understandably) vulnerable families and low income households as they want to make energy affordable to all and eliminate fuel poverty.
Funding For Energy Efficiency Measures
Energy efficiency grants UK are available to support home upgrades in all areas relating to energy efficiency with some measures attracting greater funding than others. The main areas are:
- Insulation: internal wall, external wall, cavity, floor, loft, cylinders and pipes.
- Heating Upgrades: Heat pumps, biomass boilers and electric heating.
- Power Generation: Solar, wind and hydro.
- Other energy efficiency measures: everything else such as smart meters, heating controls, led lighting, double glazing, doors and draught proofing.
There are grants available for single energy efficiency measures, for multiple measures and for a whole house approach.
Don’t Forget Ventilation
When we talk of energy efficiency we immediately thing about insulation and keeping the heat in so that we can minimise heat loss, conserve energy and keep heating costs down.
That’s all true BUT you should always ensure you maintain appropriate ventilation throughout your home. We’re not talking about draughts, we’re talking about controlled airflow around the house. This could include mechanical ventilation in wet rooms, trickle vents in windows and under cuts in doors.
